Open Staff Positions

Objectives of the Position: The center director has full responsibility for the pregnancy care center which includes the implementation of the policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors within the parameters of the FLPC budget. The primary areas of responsibility will be administrative, event planning, staff development, community outreach, and client care. Some counseling and training of volunteers may be required. 

 

Status: Non exempt, part-time position, 25-30 hours/week with the possibility of more.

Reports to: Executive Director

Supervises: All Ithaca paid staff and volunteers except for the Executive Director

Spiritual Qualifications: To effectively minister to clients in any capacity including speaking on foundational biblical truths and principles, leading in Bible studies and prayer with clients and/or staff, and discipling of clients and/or staff, an employee must have:

  1. A commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and an ability to share the Gospel and personal testimony (have been a Christian for at least 3 years).
  2. An unshakable confidence in the Word of God and an ability to communicate its truth in word and deed.
  3. Faithful attendance in a local church and the recommendation of a pastoral minister.
  4. Strong commitment, dedication, and agreement with the FLPC Statement on the Sanctity of all Human Life.
  5. Agreement with and willingness to uphold the Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, Statement on Marriage Sexuality and Gender, and other policies of the center.

Other Qualifications:

  1. Must possess demonstrated management experience.
  2. Must possess good organizational skills, leadership skills, and maintain a professional appearance.
  3. Must take initiative, be self-motivated, flexible, thorough, patient, dependable and able to handle interruptions.
  4. Be able to carry out responsibilities of counseling and programs with little supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in counseling, mental health, Christian ministry, or related field.
  2. Have experience as a volunteer in some ministry capacity.

Major Responsibilities: Oversee all daily operations of FLPC-Ithaca.

 

Administrative:

  1. Oversees supervision of office operations, petty cash, inventory and purchasing of office supplies and literature. Oversees maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of office.
  2. Oversees maintenance and repair of building.
  3. Assists Executive Director in maintaining policy and procedure manuals for the operation of the center.
  4. Provides managerial support, direction and supervision to the staff and volunteers.
  5. Conducts yearly written and oral evaluation of paid staff.
  6. Holds monthly staff meetings, and coordinates volunteer/staff in-services at least twice per year.
  7. Oversees review of client files, peer counselor summaries, and offers suggestions and encouragement to volunteers.
  8. Oversees client database and data entry making sure it is entered accurately.
  9. Keep current with eKyros updates and trainings and report to Executive Director new features and how to implement them in the Center.
  10. Oversees and ensures that accurate financial and statistical records are maintained.

Development:

  1. Plans, organizes, and leads fundraising events and direct mailings in coordination with Executive Director, staff and volunteers.
  2. Oversees financial and client database entry.
  3. Makes phone call thank you’s for gifts over $500.

Public Relations:

  1. Assists with educating the local community, including churches, pastors, community groups and professionals about FLPC, the sanctity of human life and Biblical sexual integrity.
  2. Assists with maintaining relationships with pastors, churches, and other interested organizations.
  3. Assists with maintaining relationships with community ministries and organizations that meet client needs.
  4. Represents the ministry and services of FLPC to the community as needed.
  5. Helps develop and oversee promotional materials used in presenting FLPC to clients, community, and churches under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Executive Director.
  6. Helps promote public awareness of the ministry through advertisement, presentations, and other sources of outreach as needed.

Client Services:

  1. Oversee peer counseling and all other services provided for clients, including client resources, along with Executive Director and Director of Client Services.
  2. Provide peer counseling and services for clients
  3. Be ready to assist any volunteer or staff person with counseling abortion minded or post-abortive clients.

Objectives of the Position: As an ambassador of Jesus Christ, the Administrator of Men’s Ministry directs the implementation of quality programming for men in pregnancy situations, provides support directly to these men, and trains others to do so.

Reports to: Director of Development

Supervises: All volunteer staff assisting the program

Status: Non-Exempt, part time (14-20 hours per week)

Spiritual Qualifications: In order to effectively minister to clients in any capacity including; speaking on foundational biblical truths and principles, leading in Bible studies and prayer with clients and/or staff, and discipling of clients and/or staff, an employee must have:

  1. A commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and an ability to share the Gospel and personal testimony (have been a Christian for at least 3 years).
  2. An unshakable confidence in the Word of God and an ability to communicate its truth in word and deed.
  3. Faithful attendance in a local church and the recommendation of a pastoral minister.
  4. Strong commitment, dedication and agreement with the FLPC Statement on the Sanctity of all Human Life.

Other Qualifications:

  1. Have experience helping in a related field.
  2. Exhibit skills in interpersonal communication, management and teaching.
  3. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship and support to the volunteers.
  4. Be a self-starter; able to carry out responsibilities with little direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree in counseling, mental health, Christian ministry, or related field.
  2. Have experience as a volunteer in some ministry capacity.

Core Qualifications:

  1. Oversee the quality and direction of services given by male decision coaching volunteers.
  2. Meet with male clients as needed.
  3. Mentor young fathers.
  4. Teach classes for both male clients and couples.
  5. Develop community outreaches to dads / potential male clients.
  6. Develop community outreaches to supporting churches and other organizations to share about the program and recruit help as needed.
  7. Encourage and show appreciation to coaching volunteers. The Men’s Ministry Administrator will be evaluated annually by the Director of Development in both written and oral form.

Objectives of the Position:  Work with clients doing applicable mentoring programs, pregnancy tests and material aid visits.  Provide support and back-up to Executive Director and Center Director in the areas of serving clients, day to day operations and ministry events.

Reports to: Executive Director 

Status: Non-Exempt, part time, 15-20 hours/week

Spiritual Qualifications: In order to effectively minister to clients in any capacity including; speaking on foundational biblical truths and principles, leading in Bible studies and prayer with clients and/or staff, and discipling of clients and/or staff, an employee must have:

  1. A commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and an ability to share the Gospel and personal testimony (have been a Christian for at least 3 years).
  2. An unshakable confidence in the Word of God and an ability to communicate its truth in word and deed.
  3. Faithful attendance in a local church and the recommendation of a pastoral minister.
  4. Strong commitment, dedication and agreement with the FLPC Statement on the Sanctity of all Human Life.
  5. Agreement with and willingness to uphold the Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, Statement on Marriage Sexuality and Gender, and other policies of the center.

Client Services:

  1. Answer phones, schedule appointments, provide phone counsel, answer questions, and greet the public as needed.
  2. Provide peer counseling and services for pregnancy test, material aid and mentoring clients (as experience allows).
  3. Must maintain current knowledge of abortion laws, procedures and possible risks/consequences  of abortion and be able to communicate them effectively.
  4. Must be willing to continue training as needed to serve clients truthfully and compassionately.
  5. Help with follow up with past due clients monthly to obtain case outcome and baby information and to invite client in for layette and support.

Development and Public Relations:

  1. Assists Executive Director, Director of Development and Center Director in the planning and implementation of fundraising and community awareness events.
  2. Assists Director of Development and Center Director with presentations to church boards, mission boards, and congregations to share the vision, purpose, and needs of FLPC.
  3. Assists Director of Development and Center Director with developing and maintaining relationships with community organizations and community ministries.

Client Advocates will be evaluated annually by the Executive Director in both written and oral form.
